Loss to Nobles Extends Tortolita Losing Streak
|
The Bakersfield Nobles eked out a 3-2 win versus the Tortolita Drummers at Drummers Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Juan Corona. He was terrific. Corona, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Chris Logan recorded the save for Bakersfield, his 3rd of the season.
In the top of the sixth, the Nobles took a 3-1 lead when Luis Macazaga grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"That's baseball," said Tortolita manager Marcos Costa. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
The losing streak for Tortolita has now reached 7 games.
