The Syracuse Starks beat the Baton Rouge Brass, 5-4. Syracuse pitcher and Beaverton, Oregon, native Zebulon Pike led the way. Today's win puts Syracuse at 42-46, while Baton Rouge falls to 41-47.

Bill Strong was a prime factor in the win for the Starks. In the top of the fourth with two out, the 26-year old left fielder hit a 2-run single. He went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Strong told the Syracuse Citizen.
