The Syracuse Starks got a good effort from starter Zebulon Pike in defeating the Athletic Club KC Reserves at KC Reserve Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Pike got the win, improving to 8-6. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. Pike allowed 1 run. The 8th-place Starks now have a win-loss record of 38-46.
Syracuse grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Patrick Goodhardt delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Starks.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Athletic Club KC manager Melvin Henry.
