Lynx Get Past Syracuse for 4-3 Win
The Syracuse Starks got a sterling performance from pitcher Bill Strain, but the Calgary Lynx still prevailed, 4-3. Strain threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Doug Owen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Miguel Bruno was tagged with the loss. The 5th-place Lynx are now 41-40, the Starks 37-44.

Calgary used the timely hitting of Toto Wolff to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lynx on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Wolff said.
