Bakersfield starter Mauro Ramírez put a stranglehold on the Syracuse offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the Nobles to a 4-1 win. The Nobles saw their record improve to 50-26.
Bakersfield took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Robbie Fisher stroked a 2-run single to make it 3-1, Nobles.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ramírez.
