Ala' Stars for Flyers in 9-1 Win

The Pennsauken Flyers defeated the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 9-1, at Pennsauken Park today. Leading the charge for Pennsauken was left fielder Nazeem Ala'. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Rex Manning, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 2 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-3. Athletic Club KC's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Pennsauken second baseman Pedro Romero contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 44th hit of the season and put the Flyers ahead, 2-1.
Ala' called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
