Syracuse first baseman Chun-yeong Pyon had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 11-8. Harold Hunter came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The Starks move to 32-36 with the win, while the Reserves drop to 26-42.

In the bottom of the sixth, Pyon put his team in front with his 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Richie Lems, made it 10-6, Syracuse.

Starks manager Gabriel Madrigal wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
