Dogfish Head Upend Rocks, 4-1
|
The Plymouth Rocks got a sterling performance from pitcher Arturo Gutiérrez, but the Milton Dogfish Head still prevailed, 4-1. Gutiérrez threw 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Bruce Wilson got the win, improving to 4-5. He held the Rocks to no runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Juan Cruz was credited with the save for Milton, his 7th of the season.
Bernard Alonso put Milton in front, 4-0, when he took Arturo Gutiérrez downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the top of the fourth. It was his 4th home run of the season.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Alonso.
Milton is now riding a 3-game win streak.
