Red Pandas Come Back Late, Nip Lynx
|
Calgary got a valiant performance from pitcher Ashley Remington, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas. Sioux Falls won the game, 2-1. Remington threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Reliever Carlos Rivas picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ashley Remington took the loss. Calgary has now lost 4 straight.
Had Roy Berriman not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Berriman hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Red Pandas.
"It feels good to get this one," Berriman told the Sioux Falls Today.
