5-4 Win Takes Men to 60-40
|
The Florida Men picked up a win at League Park, knocking off the Ft. Myers Marlins, 5-4. On the mound for Florida was right-hander Pedro Negrón, who played a pivotal role in the win. Negrón, now 8-8, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. Yasuoka Miyazaki was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 12 save opportunities.
Matt Banks, the 23-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Banks contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Florida up, 5-3.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Negrón told the Florida Daily.
With the win, Florida upped its record to 60-40.
