Rocks Take Down Drummers, 8-7
|
The Plymouth Rocks topped the Tortolita Drummers, 8-7, in 13 innings. Plymouth second baseman Esteban Costello, in particular, was impressive. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Thad Parker. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. Plymouth now sits at 31-20, while Tortolita falls to 32-19.
The decisive at-bat for Plymouth came with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With the bases loaded, Costello hit a sacrifice fly for the walk-off win.
"Big win," said Costello.
