The Bakersfield Nobles topped the Pennsauken Flyers, 1-0, in USPL Triple A action at Jerome Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Bakersfield pitcher and Bexley, Ohio, native Eric Buchanan. Buchanan picked up the win for Bakersfield, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Bakersfield is now 30-21.
Dennis Moore made an early impact for Bakersfield when he stroked his 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which came with one out in the bottom of the first, put the Nobles on top, 1-0.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Culley Adjeng. "That was the problem."
