Lake Monsters Get Past Syracuse for 2-1 Win

Fans watched the Vermont Lake Monsters and the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys fight to the finish.
The Vermont Lake Monsters beat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 2-1, at Monster Field. Starting pitcher Lu Tan was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The current losing streak for Syracuse has reached 4 games.
Jorge Gonzáles broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the eighth with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Lake Monsters in front, 2-1. For the game, Gonzáles drew 2 walk.
