Tritons Tag Hot Chickens with 6-1 Loss
|
Nashville had no answer for Jersey City Tritons starter Hahn Hartwig, who flummoxed Hot Chickens hitters as the Tritons cruised to victory, 6-1. Hartwig, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Their 51-45 record puts the Tritons 4th in the Menard's AAA.
The Tritons grabbed the lead in the top of the fourth. With two out, Abhijnana Megana hit a solo home run off Steve Crabtree, putting Jersey City in front, 2-0. For Megana, it was his 6th home run of the season.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Tritons manager Darryl Gordon, "I like our chances."
