Starks Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Rocks
Pitcher Bill Strain was sensational for the Syracuse Starks in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Plymouth Rocks. Strain picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Mario Méndez earned the save, his 14th. The Starks sit in 6th place in the Premier AAA with a record of 23-23.

Syracuse relied on the bat of Charlie Moore to get the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Starks ahead, 3-1. For the game, Moore had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Moore.
