Squirrel Monkeys Topple Hot Chickens, 3-2

Brandon Fox pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Nashville Hot Chickens, despite Fox's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys at Hot Chickens Park. Ronald Love earned the save for Syracuse, his 18th of the year. Syracuse, at 50-43, holds down third place in the Menard's AAA.
Syracuse used the bat of Naomichi Kodo to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Syracuse manager Scott Garrison.
