Austin pitcher Curt Stokes gave the Disaster all they could handle, but in the end, Port Royal left Mamba Park with a win, 1-0. Stokes allowed no runs on 2 hits over 7.1 innings. José Pérez earned the save for Port Royal, his 2nd of the year. The win puts the Disaster at 45-48, while the Black Mambas drop to 45-48.
Port Royal used the timely hitting of Javier Villanueva to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Disaster on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Austin manager Perry Bothof, "let me know."
