The home crowd had a good time watching the Plymouth Rocks and Syracuse Starks get after it.

The 14-1 Syracuse win over Plymouth was due largely to Bill Strong. The Starks left fielder was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Steve Ward picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 4 in 6.2 innings.

Jesús Odilia made an early impact for Syracuse when he stroked his 4th double of the season. The 2-run double, which came with two out in the bottom of the second, put the Starks on top, 3-0.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Strong. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."

Syracuse now has a record of 15-12 with the win.
