Grassley Delivers Walk-Off Win for Ogres
|
Fans of the Olympia Ogres who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Olympia win over the visiting Richland Rails, 2-1. Tom Ward started for the home team against Francisco Chavarría. Francisco Chavarría earned accolades for his performance. The win belongs to Chris Evans in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Frank Smith took the loss for Richland.
David Grassley was the walk-off hero for Olympia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ogres designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Grassley said.
