Dogfish Head Win at Baton Rouge, 5-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Milton Dogfish Head and Baton Rouge Brass.
The Milton Dogfish Head picked up a win at Brass Field, knocking off the Baton Rouge Brass, 5-4. Starting pitcher Timothy Dean played a key role in the triumph. Milton reliever Lonnie Dixon picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Matt Jenkins took the loss. Juan Cruz finished the game for Milton and earned his 2nd save.
Milton used the clutch hitting of Héctor Ancelno to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dogfish Head ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Dean.
The win makes Milton 11-14.
