Nobles Bump Off Flyers, 5-4
|
The Bakersfield Nobles did just enough to secure a victory over the Pennsauken Flyers, 5-4, at Pennsauken Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Eric Buchanan. The Flyers, now 7-15, have lost 5 in a row.
The result might have been different for Bakersfield, had it not been for Emílio Rey, the 27-year old left fielder . Rey stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Bakersfield up, 5-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bakersfield manager Jesús Román.
