Sloan Boyd was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Sacramento and Nashville. The Redlegs right-hander helped his team beat the Hot Chickens, 2-0. Shem Burkholder nailed down his 6th save.
Boyd earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Sacramento. The native of Port Wentworth, Georgia, allowed just 1 hit, while striking out 8. Nashville hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Ward Wilberfoss.
Sacramento is in 11th place in the Menard's AAA with a record of 28-42.
