The Calgary Lynx defeated the Syracuse Starks, 8-6, at Stark Stadium today. Leading the charge for Calgary was first baseman José Uranday. He was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Calgary reliever Zach Brown got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Miguel Bruno was tagged with the loss. Eric Blevins recorded the save for Calgary, his 2nd of the season.

Calgary designated hitter Pedro Palgon produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the top of the eighth with Miguel Bruno on the mound and Calgary leading 7-6. Palgon got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Steve Duncan said.

Syracuse falls to 12-8.
