Gourin Lifts Squirrel Monkeys to Win
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys got a stellar effort from pitcher Steve Gourin, helping Syracuse score a win over the visiting Florida Men, 5-1. With the victory, the Squirrel Monkeys record now stands at 35-34.
Gourin, who is tied for 2nd in the 3AAA with a 3 complete games, pitched a complete game for Syracuse. Gourin surrendered 2 hits over 9 innings and struck out 7. With the win, he moves to 4-4 on the season.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Squirrel Monkeys manager Scott Garrison, "I like our chances."
