The Port Royal Disaster turned back the Florida Men, 3-2, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Derrick MacComie, in particular, had a fine performance. He belted 2 home runs. The winner was Port Royal reliever Cory Fisher, now 3-2. The loser was Júlio Moya. The save went to Mike White, number 2 for him.
Had George Samuels not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Samuels hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Disaster.
"We were in it," said Florida manager Burton Storey. "We just didn't score enough runs."
Port Royal now sits at 33-30, while Florida falls to 39-24.
