Thomas Delivers Walk-Off Win for Black Mambas
Esteban Ortega did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Sacramento Redlegs from losing, 8-6, to the Austin Black Mambas at Mamba Park. Ortega hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Austin reliever Pleun Wolf was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Shem Burkholder took the loss. The 5th-place Black Mambas now have a win-loss record of 29-27.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Austin trailing 6-4, Tim Thomas hit a cutter from Shem Burkholder for a grand slam home run, giving the Black Mambas the walk-off win.

"We got the victory," said Thomas. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
