The Bakersfield Nobles did just enough to sneak past the Milton Dogfish Head, 3-2, at Jerome Grounds. Bakersfield pitcher Lawrence MacLellan, in particular, had a standout performance. MacLellan got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. MacLellan allowed 1 run. Earning his 2nd save for Bakersfield was Mike Barraza.
The Nobles benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the sixth. With Kelsey Pérez at bat and Bakersfield leading 2-1, the Milton miscue allowed Bakersfield to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
MacLellan said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Milton is 8-7 after the defeat.
