In a low-scoring contest, Port Royal pitcher Miguel Aguirre was marvelous in his team's 3-0 win. Aguirre, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Robert Brewer recorded his 14th save for Port Royal.

The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning, but Dave McCormick didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and Vermont trailing 1-0, McCormick retired Mark Morgan to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said McCormick, with a wink.

The loss makes Vermont 27-24.
