The Austin Black Mambas got a sterling performance from pitcher Felipe López, but the Vermont Lake Monsters still prevailed, 2-0. López threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. With the win, the Lake Monsters sit at 24-22.

Had Arlen Russell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Russell hit a 2-run double. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Lake Monsters.

Russell said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
