A 3-RBI performance from second baseman Tim Thomas, who is tied for 2nd in the 3AAA in RBI with 29, led the Austin Black Mambas to a win over the Salt Lake City Buzz, 7-3. Edemona Babitu got the win, improving to 3-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Eric Ramírez recorded the save for Austin, his 8th of the season.
With Austin leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Thomas hit a 2-run single off Salt Lake City hurler Frank Smith. It was the 28th hit of the season for Thomas and put his team ahead, 6-3.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Thomas told the Austin Daily.
Austin now sits in 4th place in the Menard's AAA at 21-19.
