Hot Chickens Snatch Late Win
|
The Nashville Hot Chickens beat the Austin Black Mambas, 4-1. Nashville pitcher and Kingston, Jamaica, native Rhys Tregelles led the way. Reliever Julian Glenn picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Katsunosuki Hirayama took the loss. David Davidson recorded the save for Nashville, his 7th of the season.
Jason Melton provided a timely hit. The Nashville center fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hot Chickens on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Tregelles told the Nashville Herald. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Hot Chickens.
