Marlins Get One-Run Win at Jersey City
|
The Ft. Myers Marlins did just enough to sneak past the Jersey City Tritons, 1-0, at Jersey City Grounds. Ft. Myers pitcher Ricardo Ramírez, in particular, had a standout performance. With the win, the Marlins have a record of 16-15.
Ft. Myers used a timely hit from José Silva to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marlins ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Ramírez said.
