The Sacramento Redlegs racked up a win at Sacramento Sanitation Station, bumping off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-1. Brian Folger, who started for Sacramento, pitched effectively for his team. Folger, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The defending champion Redlegs are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 8th win in 20 games.

Luis Tañón put Sacramento in front, 2-1, when he took San-gui Tow downtown. His 2-run home run came with no one out in the bottom of the first. It was his 1st home run of the season.
