The Syracuse Starks topped the Pennsauken Flyers by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Eldon Church. Church was 2-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Starks on the day. Pennsauken falls to 2-4.

The Starks relied on catcher Bob Hansen for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
