Luoa Slugs Drummers to 8-1 Win
|
Tortolita designated hitter Omar Luoa had a 5-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Milton Dogfish Head, 8-1. Earning his 2nd save for Tortolita was Apaghana Shachi. Tortolita, now 3-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
The Dogfish Head had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Drummers going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old second baseman Atticus Sappington came to the plate. Sappington hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 fastball from Milton hurler David Guerra. It was Sappington's 2nd double of the year.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Luoa. "And not try to do too much."
