Riding the 3-hit performance of the 22-year old center fielder Ángel Miranda, the Austin Black Mambas stopped the Port Royal Disaster, 5-2. Joe Anthony, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Austin is now 4-7.
Miranda had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count knuckle curve from Amadi Azagba, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Black Mambas a 5-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Miranda.
"I'm proud to wear a Austin jersey," Miranda told the Austin Daily. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
