Brass Knock Off Starks at Stark Stadium

In a low-scoring clash between Baton Rouge and Syracuse, pitcher Rock DeVote was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. DeVote, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Carlos Rosado was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Baton Rouge used the clutch hitting of Yoshihito Kimura to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Brass the lead, 3-1. For the game, Kimura had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Every loss hurts," said Syracuse manager Gabriel Madrigal. "But this was a tough one."
The loss drops Syracuse to 1-2.
