Win Streak Now at 10 for Rainbow Mermaids
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids went home winners at Atlantica, thanks in large part to starter Marty Taylor. Taylor stifled the Charleston Battery, enabling Northern Virginia to grab the 6-0 win. Taylor got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 2 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Taylor allowed no runs. The wins continue to add up for Northern Virginia, with the latest making it 10 in a row.
Glen Keetley contributed to the Northern Virginia win with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister. "Our pregame was pretty good."
