Dirty Reds Top Flamingos, 7-5
|
The Dayton Dirty Reds defeated the Las Vegas Flamingos, 7-5, in 12 innings. George McLean led the way, going 4-for-6 for Dayton. Peter O'Farrell notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-1. Michael Donovan was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Dayton used the timely hitting of Dariusz Bonkski to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
McLean said afterward that he hoped the win would galvanize the team.
With the win, Dayton boosts its record to 7-14.
