The Nova Scotia Leviathan beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-3, in part because of left fielder Marcantonio Talamante. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ben Frazier, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-1. With the win, Nova Scotia elevates its record to 4-2.
Nova Scotia took a 4-1 lead on Talamante's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Jesús Rosas in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Nova Scotia to the win.
