The 2055 season is off to a good start for the Echo Park Lakers. The hometown Lakers knocked off the Hollywood Shredders, 2-1, at LA Forum. Echo Park pitcher Hang-ki Cong paced his team to the win. Picking up the save was Bobby Taylor, his 1st.

Echo Park took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Eric Cowart stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Lakers.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Echo Park skipper Jordan Calhoun.
