Mohala goes 3-for-3 to Power Bowties Offense
|
The Buckhead Bowties put one in the win column with an opening day 8-5 triumph over the Nova Scotia Leviathan. The crowd at 5 Paces Park watched Ieremia Mohala put on a fine performance. Mark Garland got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Kenny McFadden was credited with the save for Buckhead, his 1st of the season.
In the bottom of the first, Buckhead second baseman Cheong-hun Park had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Park stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 3-0, Buckhead. For the game, he was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.
"We maximized our offense today," said Buckhead skipper Kerry Hofmeister. "That makes everyone's life easier."
