MSL Northern Virginia's Carter Nets 3MSL Pitcher of the Year Award Thursday, September 18th , 2053 This year the top vote-getter for the 2053 Pitcher of the Year Award was Derek Carter of the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, who finished with an outstanding 9-2 mark and an impressive 1.74 ERA. In his award-winning season, the 18-year-old Rainbow Mermaids star hurled 108.1 innings, chalking up 120 strikeouts and 29 walks, and limited hitters to a .156 batting average. He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Dave Sandoval of the MSL Nova Scotia Leviathan finished second in voting, while Jaime Trujillo of the MSL Buckhead Bowties finished third.
