Águila Tags Warheads for 5 Hits
Thursday, September 4th , 2053
Germantown first baseman José Águila could do no wrong in today's 7-6 win over the Warheads as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Warheads skipper Armentario Holguin said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Águila agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
José Águila hit a solo-shot off Karol Pejemsky in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 8th, walked in the 11th, struck out in the 13th, singled in the 16th and flied out in the 17th.
Batting .260 to date, Águila has 3 home runs and 22 RBIs.
