Salazar Belts 3 HR for Mariachis Tuesday, June 23rd , 2054 Nuevo Mexico second baseman Germán Salazar led the Mariachis to a 9-8 triumph over the Toledo Saboteurs, crushing three home runs. "He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Nuevo Mexico skipper Steve Bryan. Indeed, Salazar put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 4 hits in 7 at-bats with 3 runs and 5 RBIs. "I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Salazar said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em." Germán Salazar flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Esko Haapakoski in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Ben Jones in the 6th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off Gil Childers in the 13th. This season Salazar is hitting .302 with 8 home runs. |
