Michael Jones Picked SAAA's Best Player
Wednesday, October 7th , 2054
At the age of 24, Michael Jones of the Hartford Pride could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2054 was good enough to win the third baseman the USSL Triple A Outstanding Hitter Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .228 batting average this year, as well as a .334 on-base percentage. He played 102 games and racked up 83 hits, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 22 home runs, 59 RBIs and 45 runs scored.
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 10. Matt Fightmaster of the Sacramento Redlegs finished second in voting, while Ken Hines of the Kansas Rainbeaus finished third.
