Penni Blasts Voodoo, Grey Wolves Take Game 1, 4-2
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves started the ToC Semi-Finals in style today, winning on the road against the New Orleans Voodoo at The Voodoo Lounge by a score of 4-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Grey Wolves third baseman Basilio Penni excelled. He went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
The Grey Wolves took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Facing New Orleans hurler Larry Bryant with one out, Penni hit a 2-run home run.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Penni, "and go after the next one."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Voodoo Lounge in New Orleans.
