Centennial Clip Cajuns 4-3 in R1 Contest
|
Behind a bravura effort from starter Brad Terry, the Fort Knox Centennial topped the Crowley Cajuns by the score of 4-3 today and got their first win in the 2054 PL R Championchip. Terry threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the Centennial. The win moves Fort Knox into a 1-1 tie with Crowley.
Fort Knox needed the clutch hitting of Vicente Mejía to notch the win. The catcher hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Centennial on top, 4-3. For the game, Mejía had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Crowley manager Neal Davis said following the tough loss.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 11th , 2054 at Ballpark of Baxter in Ft. Knox.
