Gómez Hits Two Dingers, Coeur Win, 16-3
The MSL St. Louis Coeur topped the MSL Baltimore Bullets, 16-3, with youngster Raúl Gómez playing a key role. Gómez was 3-6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice for the Coeur in the win. The winning pitcher was Nelson Féliz. He tossed 104 pitches over 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. MSL St. Louis now sits in 9th place in the SL MSL at 22-25.

With MSL St. Louis leading 7-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Gómez came up to bat against MSL Baltimore pitcher Jorge González. Gómez hit a fastball to right for a grand slam home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Coeur on top, 11-2.

In comments to the MSL St. Louis Today, Gómez admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
