7-4 Loss Extends MSL Long Island Losing Streak
|
The MSL Seattle Rocketeers trumped the MSL Long Island Lighthouse, 7-4, at MSL Seattle Ballpark. MSL Seattle second baseman Brendan Seals was terrific. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. The winner was Juan Carlos Martínez, who threw 122 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. The losing skid has reached 7 games for MSL Long Island.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Rocketeers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the first, when first baseman John Walker hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jean-Luc Morand and made the score 1-0, Rocketeers. Walker was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said MSL Long Island manager Austin Case.
